About the Opportunity:
The BACKEND ENGINEER role is central to designing, building, and maintaining backend services that support critical workflows and AI applications. This position ensures backend systems are dependable, scalable, and maintainable, enabling product, data, and AI teams to operate efficiently. The engineer contributes to service architecture, cloud deployment, security, and compliance, ensuring high performance and reliability in a regulated setting.
Responsibilities:
- Design and maintain production backend services for diverse internal and external use cases
- Develop clear and testable APIs, domain models, and business logic
- Build scalable workflows supporting complex business processes
- Ensure backend services are reliable, observable, and resilient
- Contribute to service architectures covering operational and AI-driven workloads
- Integrate with various internal and third-party systems and cloud services
- Define architecture standards balancing speed, security, and maintainability
- Deploy and operate services on major cloud platforms using automation and infrastructure-as-code
- Monitor and improve service performance and reliability
- Implement security, compliance, and operational best practices
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align backend solutions with business needs
- Continuously improve system performance, security, and developer productivity
Requirements:
- 3-5+ years of experience building and operating production-grade backend systems
- Strong software engineering fundamentals including system design and testing
- Experience with modern backend programming languages such as Python, Go, C++, Rust, Java, or Kotlin
Pay Range and Compensation Package:
- Salary range of $140,000 to $240,000 USD plus annual bonus
- Compensation varies based on experience, location, and other factors
