Title: Director of Sales Foodservice

Location: Remote

Company HQ: Southern California

Reports to: EVP of Sales

The Ideal candidate will have 10+ YOE leading national Foodservice Sales with a strategic focus on produce and/or fresh greens. Proven revenue growth success, impressive sales acumen and a collaborative approach to internal and external teams.

Lead Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Execute sales plans, budgets, and marketing strategies based on market opportunities, industry trends, and company strategic plan.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with foodservice accounts, providing exceptional customer service and relationship management.
  • Gain a deep understanding of company products, foodservice applications, and production schedules, to facilitate customer alignment for growth.
  • Communicate effectively through live meetings, video conferencing, presentations, and written communications.
  • Support the growth, strategy, and direction of the sales team.
  • Implement long-term strategic programs to drive business development and cultivate growth with new and existing customers.
  • Ensure customer needs are met and continuous improvement with customer satisfaction.
  • Monitor performance against goals and adjust strategies as needed.
  • Continuously evaluate and refine the sales process, from lead generation to conversion, to maximize efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Proactively achieve sales and profit goals by adapting to changing customer needs.
  • Optimize communication between sales and other departments.
  • Monitor market competition and changes, including pricing and new products.
  • Lead new product and program launches.
  • Collaborate on sales growth opportunities through presentations, marketing materials, and category plans.
  • Uphold high levels of integrity and promote a positive company image internally and externally.
  • Travel nationwide on a regular basis as necessary for customer presentations, training, trade shows, events, and customer/business development.
  • Evaluate and provide feedback on opportunities from various perspectives, including new products, revenue, strategy, growth, and margin.
  • Align work and resources to ensure success.

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of the latest consumer trends in produce and food.
  • 7+ years of sales and leadership experience in the foodservice produce industry.
  • Proven record in selling and marketing value-added produce products.
  • Extensive culinary or selling experience with distributors, restaurants, and chefs.
  • Strong understanding of consumer trends in produce and food.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and critical thinking skills, with the ability to make confident decisions.
  • Ability to work remotely from a home office and willingness to travel extensively within North America.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to make sound decisions and solve problems confidently.
  • Ability to build and maintain effective, positive, collaborative relationships with key internal customers.
  • Proficient in branding and capable of translating the company's story into a compelling value proposition for each target consumer group.
  • Established reputation in the industry and a strong focus on delivering excellent customer service.
